2020 China-ASEAN Power Cooperation and Development Forum held in Nanning

On November 27, the China-ASEAN Electric Power Cooperation and Development Forum co-sponsored by China Electricity Council and China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat was held in Nanning. As one of the important activities of the 17th China-ASEAN Expo, the forum focuses on the development opportunities and challenges of international cooperation of China-ASEAN Power Industry, and builds an efficient interactive platform for the cooperation and information exchange between China and ASEAN countries in the field of electric power.

Yang Kun, Executive Vice President of China Electricity Council, Fei Zhirong, Vice Chairman of the Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Xu Ningning, Executive Chairman of the China-ASEAN Business Council, attended the conference and delivered speeches.

Yang Kun said that the signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) on November 15 brought hope to the global economy under the haze of the COVID-19. The general trend of opening up, cooperation and common development between China and ASEAN countries will not change, and the cooperation potential of relevant parties remains huge.

Regarding the future development of China-ASEAN energy and power cooperation, Yang Kun put forward three suggestions: First, working together to meet the challenges of the COVID-19 and deepen the friendship and future cooperation between the two sides; Second, actively promote the pragmatic cooperation of mutual benefit and win-win situation for the regional prosperity and stability; Third, focus on strengthening the mutual recognition and interoperability of power standards, and promote the deep integration of energy and power development of all parties.

The forum invited nearly two hundred delegates from home and abroad, including experts, scholars, and representatives of the ASEAN embassies and consulates.
