National and sea transport fuel statistics of power plants released for the first time-1

On August 12, the China Electricity Council released the national and sea transport fuel statistics of power plants for the first time.

According to statistics, during the statistical period from July 31 to August 6, 2020, the average daily coal consumption of coal-fired power plants incorporated into the national power industry fuel statistics was 4.56 million tons, of which the average daily coal consumption of power plants whose fuel supplied by sea transport was 1.24 million tons. As of August 6, the coal inventory of coal-fired power plants incorporated into the national power industry fuel statistics was 88.06 million tons, of which the coal inventory of power plants whose fuel supplied by sea transport was 20.26 million tons.

The national and sea transport fuel statistics of power plants are initiated by CEC and major domestic power generation groups. Based on the data of fuel consumed by major domestic power generation enterprises, the statistics aims at reflecting the real-time situation of coal supply, consumption and storage in multiple dimensions. The statistics have covered more than 600 power plants in 31 provinces of China, with a total installed capacity of more than 700GW, accounting for about 70% of the total installed capacity of coal-fired power plants in China.

Fuel statistics of electric power industry is another authoritative product of CEC after China Electricity Coal Index (CECI), striving to objectively and truly reflect the consumption level of coal and the fuel supply security of power industry, and help enterprises for analysis and decision making on the market situation and trend of thermal power production and electricity consumption in time. The data of national and sea transport fuel of power plants are released on a regular basis every Monday. The contents of the release include coal consumption and final coal inventory data of national power plants including those whose fuel supplied by sea transport from last Friday to this Thursday. The release channels include websites, newspapers, wechat public platform, etc.
