CTG completes turbine installation for world

CTG announced that it has completed the installation of all of the 10 turbines at the Zhegu wind farm in Tibet Autonomous Region, the highest wind farm in the world, on October 7.

Located at an altitude of 4,850 to 5,500 meters in Zhegu, Chuomei County, Shanan City of Tibet, a town in the northern foothills of the Himalayas, the project has a total installed capacity of 22 MW and could generate 59 million kWh of electricity annually. The highest engine room of its turbine reaches an altitude of 5,139.1 meters.

Zhegu wind farm is a scientific research and demonstration project for wind power in China's ultra-high-altitude areas.  With all of its turbines in place, it will generate construction and operation data that underpin the development of domestic ultra-high-altitude wind farms, facilitating the technological exploration of the wind power industry in ultra-high-altitude areas.
