The utilization rate of renewable energy generation in five provinces and regions in South China reached 99.84% from Jan to Apr

In the first four months of this year, hydropower in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan Province were fully consumed, and the utilization rate of renewable energy for power generation reached 99.84%, up 0.08 percentage points year on year. The increase in the utilization rate of renewable energy power generation benefits from the following aspects:

Accelerate the construction of key projects for power transmission from West to East

On May 14, the power transmission project from Wudongde Power Station to Guangdong and Guangxi Province was completed, marking the completion of the first UHV multi terminal hybrid DC transmission line in the world. At present, South China has formed "8 AC Transmission Lines and 10 DC Transmission Lines " 500 kV and above large power transmission channels from west to east, with a maximum power transmission capacity of more than 50 GW.

Promote clean energy scheduling across the regional network

The Power Dispatching and Control Center of China Southern Power Grid ensures the safe and stable operation of power transmission channels, and gives full play to the capacity of large power grid to absorb clean energy. By closely tracking the change of water flow and load variation,  the water energy  in flood season can be consumed to the maximum. Electric energy replacement projects and the clean transformation of end-use energy are actively promoted.

Electricity market helps renewable energy consumption

According to statistics, in 2019, market trading electricity accounted for 14.4% of the trans provincial power transmission of China Southern Power Grid Corporation, and the market trading electricity increased to 39.3% of the total intra provincial electricity transmission, expanding the clean energy consumption.
