CTG's Shanghai design arm secures first consulting deal in Africa
Shanghai Investigation Design & Research Institute (SIDRI), an affiliate of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), recently signed a contract to provide consulting services for the Bindura Dam in Zimbabwe, making it its first international consulting project that unveils a brand-new chapter for the institute's African business.
The consultancy deal follows SIDRI's winning bid to design the Semwa Dam in Zimbabwe in 2018 and metal structure of the Kandadji Dam in Niger in 2019.
Located in the Bindura area north of Harare, capital city of Zimbabwe, the Bindura hydropower Project mainly consists of main dam, auxiliary dam and spillway. The designed storage capacity is 87 million m3, and the total project cost is USD 80 million.
