Stand ring for CTG-built Karot Hydropower Station's first power unit hoisted
The stand ring for the first power generation unit of the Karot Hydropower Station in Pakistan, built by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), was hoisted successfully on July 29, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent installation of the volute.
With an assembly weight of approximately 108 tons, the stand ring has a maximum outer diameter of 9850mm and a maximum height of 3240mm.
To ensure smooth operation of the hoisting work, the first of its kind for key unit equipment of the Karot Project, the team responsible for the project at Three Gorges Development Corporation (TGDC), a subsidiary of CTG, worked with relevant parties closely to review the hoisting plan and completed the hoisting work for the stand ring in July, marking the start of volute installation and providing a strong guarantee for follow-on unit installation.
