CTG's Yangtze River Upstream Eco-Protection Co unveiled in Chongqing

Yangtze River Upstream Eco-Protection Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), was set up on May 16 in Chongqing. The establishment of the new venture is part of the strategic partnership between CTG and Chongqing Municipal Government in their joint efforts to advance the protection cause in the greater Yangtze River region, marking a critical move of CTG to promote the protection of the Yangtze River in Chongqing.

Lei Mingshan, Chairman of CTG, said at the unveiling ceremony that CTG will give full play to its advantages and leverage the new company as the main vehicle to engage in the protection of the Yangtze River region in the upper reaches.

The new venture, Lei said, will work to explore new models and mechanism for water treatment and better use of water resources that can be replicated to other areas as part of their effort to build a strong ecological belt covering the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.
