In order to serve new energy development and promote the efficient and economical use of resources, and to drive the green and low carbon transition as well as the high quality development of coal power, CEC conducted a research on the flexible operation and life extension of coal-fired generating unit. The study analyzed the development status and the future role of coal-fired power, and studied the safety and environmental protection characteristics, technical and economic characteristics and social benefit for its flexible operation and life extension.
It further proposed recommendations on the flexibility retrofit and the life extension management of coal-fired generating unit. The research reports had been submitted to relevant ministries and commissions as energy policy development reference.\
