Entering Vietnam to Ensure Safe Production;
Chinese Staff Working on the Vinh Tan Project

In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 1, under the direction of senior managers overseeing the Vinh Tan 1 Power Plant Project, more than 70 Chinese engineers and staff from the operation and maintenance company, as well as the general contractor of EPC Project, arrived at the designated isolation site in Vietnam through China’s Dongxing Port.
They were there to lay a solid foundation for the overhaul and maintenance of the generator sets of the project and the concurrent, year-long power generation efforts.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vietnamese government has severely tightened its entry restrictions by suspending issuances of entry visas as well as dramatically curtailing inbound international flights as well as the entry of foreigners.
Despite these unfortunate but necessary travel corrections, senior managers from the Vinh Tan 1 Power Plant optimized the deployment of on-site personnel and charged them to work safely and smoothly. Since early August, on-site staff have been diligent in carrying out security and individual temperature checks while participating in varied activities of the August Production Safety Month … in which these and numerous other “new normal” practices that combined, work to safeguard both energy production and operation.
Last May, the two generator sets of Vinh Tan 1 Power Plant produced 898GWh of electricity, a record high in a single month since the sets were put into operation; and a total of 5.592TWh by July 31, higher than that of the previous year.
To ensure the safe and stable operation of the generator sets, Vinh Tan 1 Power Plant senior managers outlined their plans for some Chinese personnel to enter Vietnam in early May.
Finally, by the end of July, the fully-emerged program was approved by both  Chinese and Vietnamese governments with thanks all around for these important joint efforts of all parties.
The more than 70 workers are slated to provide maintenance service and technical guidance to secure the smooth operation of the generator sets after entering Vietnam.
