No Imported/Exported COVID-19 Cases Among CSG's International Staff

During the COVID-19 pandemic throughout early Year 2020, CSG's overseas businesses managed to run its normal operations with no employees testing positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Reports from senior managers at the Company’s International Business Department, China Southern Power Grid currently has 1,120 employees working overseas (personnel for operation and maintenance and EPC included) and 433 of whom are Chinese and 687 from other nations.

There are 22 international projects and institutions (including overseas representative offices), located in 12 countries throughout in Southeast Asia, Europe, South America and Africa.

Following the principle of “one project, one plan”, CSG has formulated prevention and control plans in response to the pandemic, including important contingency measures. Employees going aboard - or returning to China - are required to go through strict procedures for approval.

A task force for discipline and supervision, created by the Company's senior managers, urges all departments and branches that are managing international business (including overseas investment, outsourced projects, labor service, and representative offices) to compile workers' basic information and keep track of their physical conditions and work schedules.

Measures have been and continue to be carried out based on specific situations in each departments and branches to optimize the effectiveness of the COVID-19 preventive measures.

The Vinh Tan 1 Thermal Power Plant BOT Project is the most diverse electricity project invested in Vietnam by Chinese enterprises. Two generating sets have been put into commercial operation with more than 200 Chinese workers currently working on site in Vietnam.

Jiang Weibiao, assistant manager of General Affairs Department of the plant, said, “measures had been adopted against the spread of the coronavirus, including checking personnel physical conditions and disinfecting all critical areas.”

He explained that China Southern Power Grid staff members were required to go on self-quarantine for 14 days in third countries before returning to work. After the quarantine period, staff are required to take a direct fight to Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from where they are picked up by vehicles sent from the Company to minimize their contact with other people.

Upon arriving at the power plant, CSG staff are required to follow another 14 days of quarantine.
