Dongguan - The Alliance of Medical Supply for Epidemic Prevention in Tangxia Town, Dongguan, Guangdong, recently established more than 10 warehouses specifically to house medical supplies in the Philippines, France, the United States, Brazil and other countries.

By the end of this August, 100 such warehouses had been built and are fully operational worldwide, with a reserve of more than one billion surgical masks to help win the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic virus.

The fact that the small Tangxia Town supplied one billion masks to the world is the result of Dongguan’s outstanding manufacturing capacity and its structural industrial chain.

Concurrently, the Dongguan Power Supply Bureau of Guangdong Power Grid Corporation also played a crucial role in this pandemic fight by providing high-quality electricity to ensure key enterprises that operate mask making machines, large mask producers and raw material producers have a safe and reliable electric power source.

Monitor the Load - Accelerate the Production

Dongguan Aoxing Audio Visual Equipment, a major member of this Alliance has significantly benefited from CSG’s service.

“When companies gear up to accelerate production to combat the global pandemic, electricity supplies cannot be a drag,” said Dai Lilong, Deputy Manager of Tangxia Power Service Center of Southeastern Dongguan Power Supply Bureau, adding that, “our center has specialized the power service for Aoxing. We assigned an account manager exclusively for the company to monitor its load 24/7. Even on very hot days, the load is monitored in real time to ensure stable power supplies for production.”

Meanwhile, staff of the center regularly visited the company to learn about its needs, to work out manageable solutions to challenges in electricity use and to inspect the electrical equipment so that no fault would occur.

“Thanks to the considerate and professional service of the Tangxia Power Service Center, we don’t have to worry about electricity and can devote ourselves to the production of surgical mask manufacture,” added Mr. Dai.

The extensive efforts by the CSG senior managers are also respected by their senior counterparts of the Dongguan Zmiao Health Technology Co. Ltd. On the workshop of the sterile masks of Zmiao, staff wearing protective clothing, masks, and gloves are putting nonwoven cloth, melt-blown cloth, nose bridge bars and ear belts on the assembly line … hand producing masks one at a time.

Senior managers of Zmiao echo the positive news, stating, “This workshop is running at full capacity, so I am afraid that there would be something wrong with the electricity. But I do feel much relieved to have your help in inspecting.”

Since late April, Zmiao has been exporting its high quality masks to Europe, America and other places each day, every day through four, full-loaded cargo flights for a current run of 50 million exported masks of all kinds.

Increasing Power Capacity in 13 Days

“Thanks for the fast service of the center, we have met the challenge of our electricity needs during these very hot days,” said Guan Xiaobo, deputy general manager of Dongguan Poqin Medical Equipment Co., Ltd.

As a key producer of epidemic prevention equipment in Dongguan, Poqin faced with electricity shortage and overload operation in the middle and late May when its production continued to increase and had to produce masks during overnight night shifts which greatly reduced its capacity.

After learning about Poqin’s challenges, Luo Cuihua, account manager of the Tangxia Power Service Center of Southeastern Dongguan Power Supply Bureau, offered to help the company to boost its production.

Mr. Luo explained, “We opened a green channel for Poqin to increase its power capacity as out engineers inspected the site and discussed and formulated plans with Poqin. Then we assigned a special team to follow up on the progress of equipment customization and construction and to supervise, on site, to reduce the time of each stage, powering the company as quickly as possible.”

Mr. Luo added that, “normally, it takes 50 days to increase the power capacity after an application is submitted. While this time, it has been shortened by more than 30 days, namely the application that was accepted on June 5 and the company was powered up on June 18.

Recently, with the growing orders, Poqin is working at full capacity with a two-shift production with daily output reaching more than one million masks, which are sold to customers throughout China, the United States and Europe.
