On July 6, CSG Yunnan Power Grid Co., Ltd. and Electric Power Trading Company, formally signed the Power Purchase Agreement for the Third Phase of Business Operation of China-Vietnam Power Interconnection Project in Hanoi, Vietnam, marking the beginning of the third five-year power grid interconnection and cross-border electricity trade between the two countries.
According to this agreement, CSG is going to transmit 7.5TWh of electricity to Vietnam from 2016 to 2020. Statistics shows that since September 2004, when the first China-Vietnam power line was put into operation, CSG has transmitted 32TWh of electricity to northern Vietnam.
