Service Agreement on Technical Support for Safe and Stable Operation of Electricite du Laos Signed

On June 14, Electricite du Laos (EDL) officially signed the Service Agreement on Technical Support for Safe and Stable Operation of Electricite du Laos (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement) with Yunnan Power Grid Co., Ltd. and Yunnan International Co., Ltd. The conclusion of the Agreement mark the remarkable achievements that Yunnan Power Grid and Yunnan International have made in technology export and standard output. It is the first time that Laos adopts a non-international standard to analyze and study its power grids.

Under the Agreement, Yunnan Power Grid and Yunnan International shall provide EDL with one-year, free technical training services on the safe and stable operation of Laos’ power grids, so as to help EDL improve its capability of and technology for securing power grid operations. After the Laos’ Northern 230KV Power Grid project, Yunnan International, with the technical support from Yunnan Power Grid, focuses on technology export and offers EDL one-year technical consulting services.

While providing technical consulting services, the two companies will also help EDL with data collection, data processing and modeling, conduct in-depth diagnosis of Laos’ power grids and work out solutions to the diagnosed problems. During this process, these two companies will pay more attention to teach EDL people how to promote the safe and stable operation of Laos power grids.

After this Agreement, CSG will focus on the planning of China-Laos power grid interconnection and Lancang-Mekong nations’ power grid interconnection, and apply in these two programs the unified operation standard and transmission rules currently being formulated for the power grid interconnection among Lancang-Mekong nations, to lay foundation for the power grid interconnection in this region.
