From September 11 to 12, China-ASEAN Electric Power Cooperation and Development Forum 2016 convened in Nanning, Guangxi. As an important event during the 13th China-ASEAN EXPO, the forum was themed “Develop Clean Electric Power, Promote Economic Development”. The forum focused on topics such as development of clean electric power, regional connectivity and international electric power cooperation, so as to expand and deepen China-ASEAN power cooperation and promote regional economic growth.
Experts and representatives from electric power companies and associations of China and ASEAN countries attended the forum, delivering speeches on China-ASEAN current situation, bilateral power cooperation along the Maritime Silk Road, development of clean energy, international power cooperation, nuclear power development and opportunities for nuclear energy cooperation in ASEAN, prospects for global electric power and renewable energy, etc.
The experts and representatives present all agreed that the forum, as an efficient interaction platform for China-ASEAN energy projects, business cooperation and information exchanges, plays an active role in expanding and deepening power cooperation between China and the ASEAN member states and in promoting economic growth in the region as well.
