Yang Jingbai Attends Bo'ao Forum for Asian Bangkok Conference;and Visits Myammar

Bangkok, Thailand - July 21, 2016 - Mr. Yang Jingbai, Vice President of China Southern Power Grid (CSG) was in attendance at the recent Bo'ao Forum for Asian Bangkok Conference.
At the conclusion of this important summit, Mr. Yang traveled to Myanmar where he held discussions with Mr. Xie Guoqiang, counsselor of China's Embassy to Myammar and other relevant officials.
The Bo’ao Forum for Asia Conference, convened in Bangkok, Thailand, called for regional economic integration under the theme of “Asian Regional Cooperation: New Challenges, New Approach“. Approximately 400 representatives from 13 countries and regions, including China, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, gathered in Bangkok to discuss the challenges and opportunities Asian economies face amid the rise of protectionism and shrinking international investment as well as economic transition.
During conference side bar sessions, Mr. Yang met with Mr. Jin Liqun, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and Mr. Wang Yingjie, Deputy General Manager of the Silk Road Fund Co., Ltd., where they exchanged views on issues such as strengthening communication and mutual cooperation..
During his visit to Yangon, Myanmar to visit Mr. Xie Guoxiang, Mr. Yang elaborated there on CSG's power cooperation with Myanmar and expressed his desire that “China's Embassy to Myammar would continue offer China Southern Power Grid its support in understanding local policies and market environment so that there would be more extensive energy cooperation between China and Myanmar”.
In addition, Mr. Xie analyzed the political, economic and safety situations in Myanmar and briefed on local power development. He spoke highly of the work China Southern Power Grid had done in Myanmar and proposed suggestions for the company's further cooperation with local communities.
During his stay in Myanmar, Mr. Yang also paid visits to:

• Mr. Kyaw Win, Chairman for Myanmar Investment Commission and Union Minister for Ministry for Planning and Finance;
• Mr. Htein Lwin Permanent Secretary for the Myanmar’s Ministry of Electric Power, and
• Ms. Daw Mi Mi Khaing, Director General of Department of Electric Power Planning in Yanggon, and
• H.E. U Maung Maung Soe, Chairman of Yangon Electricity Supply Board

During his talks, Mr. Yang introducs the basic information about China Southern Power Grid, stating, "CSG is a technologically advanced grid and also green grid. It is willing and advantaged to participate in Myanmar's power grid development and it is also capable of providing stable power supply for the country and sharing its experiences and practices in power grid development."
Mr. Kyaw Win fully acknowledged the important work that CSG had done in Myanmar and expressed his expectations that the company could further accelerate its work and assured Mr. Yang that the Myanmar Government would offer relevant support.
In addition, Mr. Htein Lwin expressed his confidence on CSG's professionalism and expected that, “power experts from the two sides could deepen exchanges to further refine relevant power schemes”.
Mr. Yang paid a courtesy call to China Southern Power Grid’s office in Myanmar, inspiring staff there to implement the spirit of CSG's Board Chairman Li Qingkui's series talks, always bear in mind their mission and unswervingly work hard to make new breakthroughs.
Principals of CSG's Planning and Development Department, International Cooperation Department and CSG Yunnan International Co., Ltd. were also in attendance at the Bo'ao Forum for Asian Bangkok Conference as well as the above mentioned activities in Myanmar.
