Ms. Chun is not alone.

She came to China to study and has directly benefited from the financial sponsorship support program from China Southern Power Grid that began in 2010.

College Students Study Abroad in China

China Southern Power Grid fully subsidizes the tuition and cost-of-living expenses of five students (each year) from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand to begin studies for their bachelor's degree in electric power at Kunming University of Science and Technology.

In total, the China South Power Grid educational support program is assisting 62 students currently studying at the Kunming university,

In addition to its international student educational programs, CSG maintains its vibrant relationships with its neighboring countries through management exchanges, technical exchanges and business training with neighboring power authorities and power companies.

In January and June of this year, China Southern Power Grid organized the first and second training courses and seminars of the Power Interconnection Project in Guangzhou and Kunming, sharing technical standards and management experience.

HguyenVanDung of the Vietnam Electric Energy Institute participated in the first training course of which he said was very valuable, “the course is targeted and provides the opportunity for exchanging some cutting-edge issues with Chinese frontline experts. The learning is very rewarding.”

During the formation of this educational support program, senior managers from China Southern Power Grid established the highest importance to these technical exchanges.

In the construction of the first phase of the Vietnam Yongxin Coal-fired Power Plant, investors and participating units jointly compiled a Vietnamese and Chinese terminology glossary that spanned 659 pages and 33,000 coal-fired power plant related professional terms.

The "Technical Vocabulary of Yue Hanying Coal-fired Power Plant" - completed in English - meets the needs of professional technical verbiage for coal-fired thermal power in Sino-Vietnamese power cooperation.

At the start of Year 2019, China Southern Power Grid cooperated with state officials by hosting a series of participatory activities as well as hosting Spring Festival activities nationwide.

In Nanning and Kunming, Chinese speech contests and networking events for international students were held to establish a platform of information exchange for all parties.

In Year 2014, in addition to these non-governmental exchanges, China Southern Power Grid senior managers proposed establishing a national power enterprise summit mechanism to build a platform of “pragmatic cooperation among countries.”

This summit is now entering its sixth year and China Southern Power Grid is additionally participating in other multi-bilateral exchange platforms led by foreign parties to achieve more in-depth national power cooperation.

In addition to the surrounding countries and regions that share a geographical boundary, China Southern Power Grid senior managers have gradually turned the Company’s attention to more countries along the “Belt and Road” to serve local economic and social development through equity mergers and acquisitions.

In Year 2018, China Southern Power Grid successfully acquired a 27.8% stake in ETC, a Canadian asset management company owned by Brook-field Infrastructure Partners; a 37% stake in Malaysia's Edra and a 24.92% stake in Luxembourg's Encevo.
