The Second Boao Grid International Forum Was Held

Boao - The Second Boao Grid International Forum was held in early November here in Hainan Province.

Some 1,000 experts, from government agencies, research institutions, energy industry and information technology sectors, attended the forum to review and discuss state-of-the-art technology development, technological means and demonstration construction of smart grid throughout China and across the international community.

Chen Yunpeng, Deputy General Manager of China Southern Power Grid attended the opening ceremony and gave a keynote address, entitled, "Advance Smart Grid Development for Smart Society Construction".

Hosted by Boao Smart Grid Association and undertaken by the BSGIF Secretariat, the Forum - under the theme of "Smart Grid, Smart Society" - was themed to accelerate smart grid development and digital transformation which ni turn supports the digital country and smart society construction amid the age of industrial digitalization and digital industrialization.

According to Mr. Chen, “today, intelligentization is facing an important turning point. Energy and power industries are expected to follow historical progress and trend of times, seize exciting new opportunities in smart society construction, identify relevant needs and expand application scenarios of the smart grid, so as to achieve smart, high-quality and sustainable self-development while supporting smart society construction”.

He said that, ‘it is reported that by Year 2025, CSG's secure, reliable, green and effective smart grid pattern, and the world-class "two area, one port" smart grid will be basically established”.

Mr. Chen explained that with the stock and increment plant resources, “CSG will establish all-in-one stations of transformer substation, charging and battery-swap station, energy storage station, data center, 5G base station and Beidou base station on a large scale, integrate power of the overall grid, distributed energy, stored energy, data center, and charging unit together, so as to achieve open sharing and cooperative operation”.

According to report, the three-day Boao Grid International Forum included main forums and sub-forums as the host organizer collected and selected exceptional papers from home and abroad. Forum organizers invited world-renowned experts and scholars to deliver keynote speeches on digital technological innovation and application, smart energy and cities and other cutting-edge issues.

Prior to the Opening Ceremony, participants visited the smart grid interactive experience center and nearby exhibition area.

Jointly established by China Southern Power Grid and other parties, the three-day Boao Grid International Forum served as an important platform for smart grid technology exchange and cooperation.

In closing, Mr. Chen said that CSG, “sincerely looks forward to cooperating with other parties to advance smart grid development in the world and build a smarter and more intelligent future together”.
