China’s First Digital Grid Standardization Organization Set up

Guangzhou - The China Electricity Council has recently approved China’s first digital grid standardization organization, CEC Digital Grid Standardization Work Group.

Wang Jifeng, Chief Engineer of China Southern Power Grid was assigned as the Chairman and DGRI as its Secretariat.

The goals of the working group aim at building a “technology + standards” cooperation platform in a digital power grid by building an ecosystem that integrates scientific research, technical innovation, application and standard formulation.

Its main work includes strategic research, system design, standard formulation, and academic communication. The group is further divided into two teams: Digital Power Grid System Research & Work Coordination Team and Technology Research Team.

According to Mr. Wang, “in the next step, the group will hold a meeting to set up the committee and regulations of the group, working details and plans of the Secretariat”.

He added that the DGRI, “will increase the investment in the R & D of core technologies in digital power grid and cultivating a number of experts to ensure the construction of digital power grid and digital transformation of CSG”.
