From August 22 to 25, Mr. Li Qingkui, Board Chairman of CSG visited Electricité de France (hereinafter referred to as EDF), Réseau de Transport d'Electricit (hereinafter referred to as RTE) and Electricité Réseau Distribution France (hereinafter referred to as ERDF), and the European Energy Company of China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN), and met with Jean-Bernard Lévy, CEO of EDF; , Vice President of RTE and Philippe Monloubou, Board Chairman of ERDF, etc., with whom he had in-depth exchanges concerning electric power market-oriented reform, energy storage technology, access of new energy, smart grid, distribution network automation, etc.

During the visit, Li Qingkui introduced the status quo of CSG, and retrospected the friendship built in cooperation between CSG and EDF and its subsidiaries. He said that in recent years, the European electric power markets, including the French market, had made positive explorations in a number of fields such as electric power market-oriented reform and integration and development of new energy. In addition, some famous enterprises such as EDF have set good examples for the global electric power companies concerning operation, technology and management. At present, against the backdrop of the shift of the paradox of between energy supply and demand, in-depth promotion of structural adjustment and technology and equipment advancement, all power enterprises are confronted with common opportunities and challenges, especially in the fields of PTD (power transmission and distribution), smart grid, access of new energy and power storage technology. They should share their experience, overcome their shortcomings and carry out in-depth cooperation. In order to improve CSG’s international operation, on the aspect of business, it should carry out benchmarking and cooperation concerning management and technology with world-known electric power enterprises such as EDF. This will help with the internationalization of equipment and technology, operation management and resources allocation. It will also help to cultivate international talent, form international brand image and corporate cultures. At the same time, on the aspect of capital, based on deepened cooperation with neighboring countries and regions, CSG should also proactively seek for access and development in the markets along the “Belt and Road” countries, developed countries as well as emerging countries. It should push forward the international program by looking for effective patterns of capital operation and cooperation, so as to implement the national strategy of “going global” and realize the company’s strategic goal on schedule.

Jean-Bernard Lévy extended his welcome to Board Chairman Li Qingkui and his delegation. He said that EDF had a sound basis of cooperation and deep friendship with CSG, and that EDF was willing to further the relations between CSG concerning technology, management and R&D, and work together towards structural adjustment, technological innovation and optimized development. Clotilde Levillain pointed out that a slow increase in demand as well as the problem of increasing distributed energy and grid connection of new energy had become some of the major challenges regarding the development of electric power grid, and that RTE was continuously pursuing differentiation and internationalization of its business patterns. Philippe Monloubou said that in the fields of distribution network automation and smart power grids, ERDF and CSG could launch in-depth cooperation, realize mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.

During his visit to the European Energy Company of China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN), Li Qingkui visited the demonstration program of distributed solar photovoltaic power generation and the remote monitoring platform. He also discussed with the company’s management team in terms of the energy policies of the European market, development trend of the new energy, extension and practices of new energy programs promoted by Chinese enterprises and the experience of international development.

The leaders of the Planning and Development Dept., International Cooperation Dept. and CSG International Company also joined in this visit. (CSG correspondent Li Zhijie)
