Liu Qihong Attends BIXPO 2018

Gwangju, Korea - Mr. Liu Qihong, Vice President of China Southern Power Grid (CSG) was in attendance at the international Bitgaram International Exposition of Electric Power Technology (BIXPO 2018) held here in Southwest Korea during early November.

BIXPO 2018 drew more than 81,000 attendees from 61 countries and regions with a theme of “Energy Conversion, Data Transmission” presenting the most advanced power technologies available to the international community.

Mr. Liu visited the Korea Power Exchange (KPX) and the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and had in-depth meetings with Mr. Cho Youngtak, CEO of KPX and Mr. Kim Jae Seung, Vice President of KEPCO.

During his visit to KPX, Mr. Liu was given a detailed presentation of the Korean power grid planning, the organizational structure and division of work of its control center.

Mr. Liu expressed his desire that both CSG and KPX “could do more to strengthen exchanges and cooperation so that they could learn more from each other”.

During his visit to the headquarters of KEPCO, as well as its  regional headquarters located in Gyeonggi Province, Mr. Liu gained a comprehensive insight into the operation and maintenance of the main and distribution grids, smart grid construction and customer service, all of which are involved in power production in Korea.

Mr. Liu said that CSG “maintains a good relationship with KEPCO and conducted in-depth exchanges with it in many aspects such as power grid development and new technology application”.

He added that “KEPCO’s successful experience in improving power supply reliability, line loss management is impressive and CSG seeks to deepen its cooperation with KEPCO and achieve common development”.

Mr. Kim also highlighted CSG’s advanced technology and profound experience in long-distance and large-capacity power supply and hoped that the two sides could continue to maintain communication, and expand their cooperation to achieve mutual benefits.
