China Huaneng Group Entitled National-level Innovative Enterprise

A few days ago, China Huaneng Group was entitled as a national-level innovative enterprise by the Ministry of Science and Technology, SASAC and All-China Federation of Trade Unions.

The experimental evaluation of innovative enterprises launched by the three departments aims to guide enterprises onto the road of innovative development, support the concentration of innovation elements in enterprises, focus on enhancing the capability of enterprises for independent innovation and accelerate the building of a technological innovation system that relies on enterprises as major players, follows market as orientation and integrates enterprises, universities and research institutes. China Huaneng Group always pays close attention to technological innovation, focuses on “technology-led approach” as it strategic orientation and remains at the forefront of the power generation field. In the power development history of China, it has set a number of “first”: first to import a supercritical coal-fired unit of 600MW; first to adopt a domestically manufactured supercritical coal-fired unit of 600MW; first to build a power plant that uses a domestically manufactured supercritical coal-fired unit of 1000MW.

In recent years, China Huaneng Group has earnestly practiced the scientific outlook on development to create new advantages and achieve new progress. In fields like large-scale gasification of dry coal dust,IGCC demonstration power plant, capture and processing of CO2, and other areas such as high-temperature gas-cooled nuclear reactor demonstration plant, it has made new breakthroughs and is leading in China,effectively promoting the sound and fast development of the company.
