Wen Shugang Attends Opening Ceremony for the First CIIE

The first China International Import Expo (CIIE) opened in Shanghai on Nov 5. Chinese President attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech titled “Work Together for an Open Global Economy That is Innovative and Inclusive”. China Huadian Board Member, President Wen Shugang was invited to the ceremony.

History tells us that openness and cooperation are a major driving force behind dynamic international economic and trade activities; the current situation calls for openness and cooperation to foster steady global recovery; looking ahead, openness and cooperation will remain essential for continued human progress, said President Xi in his speech. President Xi also stressed that China will not stop its effort to promote higher-quality opening-up; China will not stop its effort to pursue an open world economy; China will not stop its effort to pursue a community with a shared future for mankind.

It is learned that China Huadian trading group will hold signing ceremonies on Nov. 6 afternoon in C building of Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center. Huadian group company and 9 subsidiaries will ink multiple agreements for purchases or cooperation with foreign partners like Siemens, GE, PTBA, KIDECO and Sulzer, so as to strengthen relationship in industrial, trade and technological fields and further expand expo’s effects.

As a primary power supplier for the expo, Huadian National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) Energy Station has already supplied heating to the center (Shanghai), the core venue of the expo for 72 consecutive hours to keep it at 25 degrees Celsius. To provide first-class energy service to the expo, Huadian’s 5 energy subsidiaries in Shanghai stand ready around the clock to carry out works in stable energy supply, safety and environmental protection, security and counter-terrorism and facility maintenance to ensure that no loopholes or details have been overlooked.

China Huadian Vice President Yang Qingting and heads of Shanghai subsidiary also attended the opening ceremony.
