On December 5, CHD President Wen Shugang met with Mr.Shamsuddin A. Shaikh, Chairman of Board with Engro Powergen Limited of Pakistan, exchanging views on further strengthening energy cooperation.
President Wen Shugang first welcomed Mr. Shamsuddin and introduced CHD and the situation of its investment, construction and operation of power projects abroad. He stated that CHD now is actively exploring overseas power market and has built power projects in Indonesia, Cambodia, Russia, Vietnam and other countries and has achieved good social and economic benefits and has acquired huge support and high recognition from the local. CHD currently is eyeing more energy cooperation project located along the “Belt and Road” initiative route. He also said that CHD highly values cooperation with Engro Powergen and will spare no efforts for mutual benefits and win-win results.
Chairman Shamsuddin thanked CHD for the hospitality and said that his company is now actively investing and developing power sector in Pakistan. The 2×330MW Thar CFB units under construction is a significant project jointly developed by China and Pakistan. Engro Powergen is willing to take this project as a starting point and deepen cooperation with CHD in energy sector for mutual benefits and win-win results.
On the next day, CHD Power Plant Operation Co.,Ltd. signed with Engro Powergen Limited the Framework Agreement on the Operation and Maintenance of Pakistan Thar2×330MW CFB Units Project.
