Chairman Zhao Jianguo and President Wen Shugang’s New Year message

At the beginning of a new year, Party Leadership Group Secretary, Chairman Zhao Jianguo and Member of Board, President, Deputy Secretary Wen Shugang post their New Year message via Huadian group website. They looked back at the last year’s achievements and looked forward to 2017. The full text is as follows：

As the new year begins, let us also start anew. At a time to ring out the old and ring in the new, we are delighted to extend heartfelt gratitude and blessings to domestic and overseas partners caring and supporting Huadian; to send our highest respect and good wishes to employees and retirees and their families.  

In 2016, faced with complex and changeable environments at home and abroad, China Huadian comprehensively implemented guiding strategy of CPC central committee and the state council, actively responded to economic new normal state, vigorously advanced supply-side structural reform for realizing “decapacity, destocking, de-leveraging, reducing costs, improving weal links”. In the meantime, China Huadian prioritized party building work, safe production, quality and efficiency improvement, reform and innovation. As a result, China Huadian embraced a good start at the beginning of the 13^th five-year period with good results delivered in 2016. 

In 2017, we will be closely united by General Secretary Xi Jinping around CPC central committee. We will comprehensively implement the spirits of the 18th national congress of CPC, and the following 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th plenary sessions, the central economic leadership group meetings, and the central enterprises leaders meetings. We will intensively study General Secretary Xi’ s speeches and remarks. According to the CPC central committee’s call for promoting economic, political, cultural, social, ecological progress and the four-pronged comprehensive strategy, we will follow a development thinking featuring “innovative, coordinated, green, open, sharing” and the guiding principle for energy development requiring promotion of international cooperation and reforms in energy consumption, energy supply, energy technology and energy system.  We will purposefully adapt ourselves to the economic new normal state and the supply-side structural reform. We will improve quality and efficiency and realize “decapacity, destocking, deleveraging, reducing cost, shoring up against weak links”. In the mean time, we will uphold CPC leadership, strategy-led development, value creation, reform, innovation, and people-oriented principle. We will focus on efficiency and return improvement to ensure high quality and good return. We will optimize structure to become efficient and environmentally friendly. We will study market and customers demands to become market-directed. We will open ourselves for international cooperation. We will insist risk control to become sustainable. We will become a first-class global energy group which generates electric power as main business and develops supporting industries in a coordinated, green, low-carbon, safe and high-efficient way. We will greet the upcoming 19th national congress of the CPC Central Committee with our fruitful results.

We wish our motherland greater prosperity. We wish Huadian greater success. We wish people happiness and well-being!
