12 China Energy Mines Added into National Green Mines List

China’s Ministry of Natural Resources unveiled the 2020 National Green Mines List on January 11, 2021. A total of 12 mines under China Energy, including Guoshen Huangyuchuan Coal Mine, Hami Dananhu No.1 Mine, Pingzhuang Coal Baiyinhua No.1 Open-air Mine, Ningxia Coal Jinjiaqu Mine, Jinfeng Coal Mine, Maiduoshan Coal Mine, Hongshiwan Coal Mine, Shicaocun Coal, Hongliu Coal Mine, Xinjiang Kuangou Coal Mine, were newly added into the list. So far, China Energy has had 36 coal mines to be inscribed on the list.

China Energy has constantly pushed forward green exploration and utilization of coal mines throughout their life cycle and accelerated construction of green mines by improving relevant construction institutions at various levels, establishing green mine management, supervision and inspection mechanisms and a hierarchical accountability system. All subsidiaries related to coal business are required to establish a work mechanism for meeting and maintaining relevant standards and conducting regular self-evaluation, as well as a high-level green mine standard system. They have also introduced assessment indicators to strengthen the performance evaluation system according to yearly targets, and optimized the allocation of research funds, specialized funds, infrastructure funds and geological and ecological restoration funds for mining areas to support construction of green mines and achieve green, sound development of coal mining.
