Hebei Branch’s First Photovoltaic Project Begins Commercial Operation

The 200KW distributed photovoltaic project, developed by China Energy Hebei Branch at the Wahuanggong International Camping Base in Shexian County, was successfully connected to the grid on November 9, marking that it was officially put into commercial operation. This is the company’s first photovoltaic project as well as its first new energy project, marking an epoch-making shift from complete coal-fired power generation to “coal-fired power + new energy” integrated development.

The project is located in the Wahuanggong International Camping Base in Shexian County, Handan City, Hebei Province, close to the Qingzhang River and the Nuwa Palace, a National 5A Scenic Area. With a total installed capacity of 200KW and a total investment of 897,000 yuan, it takes use of the 1,000-square-meter parking lot at the international camping base to build photovoltaic car sheds roofed with 378 monocrystalline silicon solar panels, with 540 peak watts, which combines practicality and artistry. The electricity power generated by the project is first used to meet the camping base’s demand, and the extra electricity is connected to the grid system via a 380V line. It is estimated that the project can generate 220,000 kWh of power per year.

The operation of the project provides sufficient green energy for the camping base, optimizes its electricity supply structure, and enhances its development of green tourism, playing an exemplary role in local green energy supply.
