China Energy’s Indonesia Project Wins Prize for Overseas CSR Fulfillment at the 2021 Responsibility Golden Bull Awards

On November 23, China Energy’s Indonesia project was granted the “Prize for Overseas CSR Fulfillment” at the 2021 Responsibility Golden Bull Awards, on the sidelines of the 4th Beijing CSR Expo. The Responsibility Golden Bull Awards, launched by the China Social Responsibility 100 Forum, aims to commend Chinese enterprises with outstanding achievements in fulfilling their corporate social responsibilities (CSR), and has been held for four straight years. A jury comprised of experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and social activists selects excellent enterprises and individuals of the year that made remarkable achievements in CSR fulfillment.

China Energy has been committed to exploring the Indonesian market for 15 years and constructed a number of coal-fired power projects, providing reproducible, diffusible practical examples as reference for other Chinese enterprises engaged in the construction of the Belt and Road.

China Energy is the Chinese enterprise with the largest amount of investments in Indonesia’s coal-fired power industry. The South Sumatera power plant has created nine records including the longest operating time of China-Indonesia joint venture generation units and won many power industry awards in Asia. The Jawa-7 project is Indonesia’s largest power plant equipped with the most advanced technology and environmental protection facilities. The project led the industry in terms of construction period and operating level, and has been lauded as a “name card” of Chinese enterprises going global.

On November 15, PT. Shenhua Guohua Pembangkitan Jawa Bali won the “golden prize for coal power project of the year” and “golden prize for fast-track power plant of the year” at the 2021 Asian Power Awards. This demonstrates the company has made breakthroughs in the power industry and gained great reputation in the global energy industry.
