CTG’s first onshore wind farm in Guangxi commences power generation-1

China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co., Ltd, the alternative energy arm of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), has commenced power generation at its first onshore wind farm in Guangxi on July 24 after connecting its first batch of units to the grid.

Located in the northwestern part of Xiangyang town, Tian’e county, the wind farm is expected to generate 200 million KWh annually once completed. The power it generates will be equivalent to a reduction of 68,200 tons in standard coal, 687 tons of smoke and dust and 1,646 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions.

The wind farm will effectively meet the demand for power supply in the region while also improving transportation conditions for local rural residents, playing an important role in spurring the development of agriculture and forestry as well as tourism in remote areas.
