China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) announced that its total installed capacity of renewable energy has reached 104 million kilowatts as of January 12, 2022. The company also said that it generated 340 billion kWh of renewable energy in 2021, up 9.5 percent year on year.
It is estimated that 340 billion kWh of clean electricity can replace about 100 million tons of standard coal, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 280 million tons. In 2021, the Three Gorges hydropower station hit 100 billion kWh in power output again, supplying reliable clean energy for the country.
