China Three Gorges Corp (CTG) completed the stator frame installation for the second generator on the right bank of its Baihetan Hydropower Station on April 19, marking that both generators on the right bank are now entering the electromechanical installation phase.
The stator frame weighs 198 tons, equivalent to the combined weight of 36 elephants. Due to its large size and weight, it was transported to the site in five parts for assembly and welding. The stator frame installation lays the foundation for stator assembly for hydro-turbine generating units on the right bank of the station.
