CTG drives ecological initiative in Laos-1

The Lao branch of China International Water & Electric Corp. (CWE), a subsidiary of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), recently carried out tree planting activities at Nam Lik 1 hydropower station and Nam Ngiep 2 hydropower station in Laos as part of its efforts to advance its reforestation plan and improve its surrounding environment.

Employees from China and Laos planted many trees, such as Delonixregias, banians and Champa flowers, in the areas surrounding the plants and the living quarters of the village where CTGs projects operate.

CTG has always been committed to protecting the environment and restore forests and green areas in the countries where its projects are located, steadily promoting the construction of garden-style power stations, and sticking to the concept of "green power stations" throughout the process of construction and management. Thus, the company has succeeded in ecological and environmental protection while developing power stations.

Over the years, CWE Laos has carried out activities like tree planting, fish releasing and migrant village construction to promote local economic development, helping farmers increase their income, and protecting the clear waters and green mountains in the areas surrounding its plants.
