CTG inks strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai municipal government

China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai municipal government on January 13, vowing to expand their comprehensive and multi-level strategic partnership to implement and serve China’s national strategies.

The two sides will cooperate in areas such as protection of the Yangtze River, deepening cooperation in energy and technology innovation, according to the deal.

Li Qiang, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, expressed the hope at the signing ceremony that CTG can make better use of its advantages and launch more high-quality projects in Shanghai to jointly build an eco-friendly development demonstration area in the Yangtze River Delta and help Shanghai build a modern energy system and an innovation hub, driving the development of both parties.

Lei Mingshan, chairman of CTG, said that Shanghai has been fully supportive throughout the construction of the Three Gorges Project, the pairing-assistance to the Three Gorges Reservoir Region, CTG’s reform and development course and the group’s business development in Shanghai. The strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai is of great significance for expanding the partnership between the two sides.

In line with the group’s positioning and mission, Lei said CTG will actively engage in executing the agreement as part of its efforts to help Shanghai achieve innovation-driven growth, economic transformation and upgrading.
