CTG releases nearly 3 million fish fry in Wuhu

Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd., the environment business arm of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), released 1 million fish fry into the Yangtze River at the 3rd Wuhu breeding and release activity on May 29, as part of its efforts to protect the "mother river" of the Chinese nation.

Nearly 200 representatives from all walks of life in Wuhu City, Anhui Province participated in the event held at the former customs building in the city, the third consecutive breeding and release activity CTG held in Wuhu that has released a total of nearly 3 million fish fry.

The fish species released this time include the four major Chinese carps, namely the grass carp, the black carp, the silver carp and the bighead carp, all of which grow and reproduce well in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

The aim of the activities is to broaden the reach of the Yangtze River Protection initiative, further raise the awareness of ecological and environmental protection in the society and among the public, and play a positive role in maintaining the health and vitality of the "mother river", driving the sustainable development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
