CTG gains approval for the feasibility study report of its planned pumped-storage power station in Tiantai-1

The feasibility study report of China Three Gorges Corporation's planned pumped-storage power station in Tiantai, Zhejiang Province has been approved by China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute on March 16-19, 2021. Experts believe that the topographic and geological conditions of the power station are sound and suitable for the construction of a large pumped-storage power station.

The approval marks a good start for the feasibility study of the project, laying a solid foundation for the power plant to be greenlit by the end of 2021.

The power station has a planned installed capacity of 1,700MW. Upon completion, it will mainly undertake the tasks of peak load regulation, valley filling, frequency regulation, phase modulation and emergency use for Zhejiang's power grid while addressing the needs of East China Grid.
