Xiangjiaba ship lift, the world's largest ship lift in terms of lifting height, marked the second anniversary of its trial operation on May 26.
Over the past two years, the Xiangjiaba ship lift, built and owned by China Three Gorges Corp (CTG), has operated its lifting chamber more than 4,260 times, and carried over 4,400 ships and more than 1.6 million tons of cargo.
The ship lift has transformed the Yangtze River into a “golden waterway”, driving the development of the Jinsha River shipping industry, and promoting the economic prosperity of Southwest China, as well as benefiting people living along the river.
On May 26, 2018, Xiangjiaba ship lift officially began its trial operation.
