CTG-owned Changlongshan pumped storage power station passes stator magnetization test-1

Changlongshan pumped storage power station, built and owned by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), passed the stator magnetization test for its No.5 generator on the first attempt on September 3, signaling the world's first 350 MW pumped storage generator is ready for winding assembly, a solid step in exploring the uncharted territory of pumped storage power.

The magnetization test is a mandatory process following the installation of the iron core of the stator. The 90-minute test went safely with proper quality control. The No. 5 power unit will then move on to complete the stator assembly in phases. The power plant is scheduled to start final assembly this year and be commissioned in the first half of 2022. It will help optimize the power structure in East China, improving the operations of the East China Grid and contributing to the development of new energy.
