CTG releases 300,000 rare fish into the Yangtze River

China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) released a third batch of 100,000 fish in the Yibin section of the National Nature Reserve for Rare Fishes in the upper reach of the Yangtze River on November 7, the third batch of such release after another two batches of 100,000 fish were released on October 24 and October 31 respectively and pushing the total number to 300,000 fish for the campaign.

The release involved 6 species, including Yangtze sturgeon, a first-class protected animal in China, Chinese high fin banded shark, a second-class protected animal, and coreius guichenoti. Among them were 50,000 Yangtze sturgeons with a length of 30 centimeters or more, the largest release of this species by number in China.
