CTG announced that its Shapa offshore wind farm (Phase II) in Yangjiang has generated a total of 1 billion kWh of clean electricity as of March 25, powering the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The electricity generated is equivalent to replacing 307,600 tons of standard coal, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 840000 tons, and planting 3,309 hectares of broad-leaved forest.

Located in Shapa Town, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, Shapa offshore wind farm is China's first GW-level offshore wind farm and CTG's first offshore wind power project in the province.

With a total installed capacity of 2 million kilowatts, it has 315 offshore wind turbines, 4 offshore booster stations and nearly 1,000 kilometers of submarine cables. The wind farm produces about 5.6 billion kWh of clean electricity per year for the Greater Bay Area, capable of powering about 2.4 million households per year, which is equivalent to reducing about 4.8 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
