The Three Gorges Dam Sightseeing Area received more than 2 million tourists as of August 11 this year, up 260,000 or 14.86% from a year earlier and one month earlier than last year to hit the figure.
The reception of tourists peaked during the summer vacation, with 81,000 more tourists in July alone. It is estimated that the number of tourists in Three Gorges Dam Sightseeing Area will register a record high this year, driven by the booming national tourism sector.
