China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) will contribute to energy development in African countries as part of their efforts to establish a green, efficient and economical energy system in the continent, CTG President Wang Lin said at a Sino-African energy forum on November 6 in Beijing.
The joint efforts are aimed to help Africa embark on a new chapter of clean energy and green development, Wang said in a keynote speech at the 2019 Global Energy Interconnection (GEI) & China-Africa Energy and Power Conference.
The two-day conference focuses on two themes, namely, “Global Energy Interconnection - A Road of Green, Low-carbon and Sustainable Development” and “African Energy Interconnection - New Growth Driver of Africa”, where the delegates discussed the master plans of building global and African energy interconnection.
CTG has launched over 300 energy and infrastructure projects in more than 30 African countries and regions in the last 50 years, contributing to the local social development, improvement of livelihood and environment protection, according to Wang. The achievements lay a solid foundation for CTG to further drive the green development in Africa, he said.
