Ningde Nuclear Power held 2014 press conference to disclose information of production and construction

On January 23, Ningde NPP held a press conference and briefed the project’s construction and operation, safety management, etc. About 30 representatives from the central media in Fujian such as Xinhua News Agency, people.com.cn, Economic Daily，Science and Technology Daily, and some provincial and municipal class media such as Fujian Daily, Southeast Express, Mindong Daily and some netizens attended the conference. General Manager Li Yinong and the spokesman Huang Xiaoheng also attended.

In the conference, Li Yinong introduced the general situation of the 2014 Ningde NPP from the aspects of engineering construction, operation performance, safety and quality and environmental protection etc. He said, in 2014, there were 11 WANO indicators of the two operating units of Ningde NPP reached the world’s top 1/4 advanced level. During two years of nuclear power operation, the environmental radiation of the power plant and the surrounding area were at the background level with no obvious abnormality.

After the press conference, the journalists and netizens also toured the science exhibition hall, main control room simulator, environment monitoring center, emergency command center and the construction site.
