The Hoisting of Dome for Unit 6 of Yangjiang NPP Completed

At 10:56 a.m. of Jan. 27, 2016, the hoisting of dome for unit 6 of Yangjiang NPP was completed.

At 9:36 a.m., in the drizzling rain, the representatives of Yangjiang Nuclear Power and South China Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision Station of the Ministry of Environmental Protection finished witness signature, and the hoisting of dome for unit 6 of Yangjiang NPP started formally. As the 20th hoisting of CPR1000 series units, and also the comprehensive completion work of the civil construction of Yangjiang Nuclear Power Base, this hoisting implementation attracted much attention of the National Nuclear Safety Administration, Yangjiang Nuclear,  China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. and each unit participating in the construction.

At 10:24 a.m., hoisting stepped into the second half process. A gust of wind appeared suddenly in the cloudy and hazy sky, and 11 minutes later, wind speed increased gradually, bringing about certain challenges to hoisting work. According to the requirements of technical specifications, a wind speed of higher than 7.16m/s during hoisting process would be deemed as not meeting hoisting condition, and in this process, the influences of wind were overcome smoothly through the effective communication and precise coordination of onsite commander and operating team. At 10:40a.m., the wind force weakened gradually, the hoisting process stepped into the final connection stage, and the hoisting was completed finally at 10:56 a.m.

Since FCD (first concrete date) on Dec. 16, 2008 of Unit 1 of Yangjiang NPP, the civil construction of 6 units has been completed successively. Nowadays, Units 1, 2 and 3 have realized business operation successively. Unit 4 has also stepped into commissioning stage comprehensively. In the near future, the 6 commercial units arranged in a line will become the most beautiful business card of Yangjiang NPP.
