Huanghua Port Approved as the First Science Popularization Base for Dry Bulk Transportation

According to the Notice on Releasing the List of the Second Batch of National Transportation Science Popularization Bases jointly issued by the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Science and Technology on August 30, Huanghua Port was approved as a national transportation science popularization base, thus becoming the first approved specialized dry bulk port in China.

In recent years, Huanghua Port has focused on the “three major problems” of dust control, coal-bearing sewage treatment and intelligent production in the coal port industry, and made independent innovations to tackle key problems, all of which have achieved good results. As the first AAA-level industrial tourism destination among China’s coal ports, the company’s business encompasses industrial sightseeing, eco-tourism, and environmental protection education. It has built a three-prong knowledge system of coal port: guaranteeing energy supply, developing advanced technologies for large transport port, and creating a near-zero carbon green ecosystem. By introducing the key node strategy of disseminating knowledge about coal transport science and drawing on good practice of world-class intelligent and efficient coal port facilities, multimodal transport operation organization and demonstrative green base, Huanghua Port has promoted the pioneering pilot project of “near zero carbon port” and the demonstration application of “energy port plus green ecology” with a timely theme, various forms, professional team and complete mechanisms.
