Foreign Press Corps Visited Huaneng Clean Energy Research Institute

On August 31, a press corps consisting of 27 foreign journalists paid a visit to Huaneng Clean Energy Research Institute. These journalists come from 24 countries, including Cambodia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Brazil, South Africa and Egypt. Through the tour and discussions, the corps learned about the research progress and major achievements of China Huaneng Group in terms of its cutting-edge technology of clean energy. The press from China International Press Communication Center and China Huaneng Group News Center attended this event as well.

The press corps visited the hydrogen energy technology laboratory, greenhouse gas emission reduction laboratory and energy storage technology laboratory, exchanging their opinions with the heads of laboratories.

Through the discussions, Li Weidong, chairman of Clean Energy Research Institute, and Xiao Ping, president of Clean Energy Research Institute, exchanged their views with the press corps on the prospect of clean energy research and development. Journalists were impressed by China's rapid development in clean energy and the contribution of China Huaneng Group to the combat against global climate change. They expressed their hope to establish deeper cooperation and exchanges with China in the field of clean energy in the future, and to bring advanced technologies, equipment and standards seen today to their own countries.
