Xinjiang “Wind Power Storage” Project Completed Foundation Laying for Its First Wind Turbine

On October 6, the Xinjiang branch of Guohua Energy Investment Co., Ltd. under CHN Energy completed foundation laying for the first wind turbine of the Jingxiaxi 250MW “wind power storage” project.

The project is located in the gobi desert in southeastern Hami, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, with a planned installed capacity of 200MW and a supplementary power storage facility of 5MW per four hours. It is also designed to have a newly built 110KV booster station. When completed, the project will generate 540 million kWh of electricity per year, with an annual usable time of 2,700 hours. It is estimated that the project can save 164,700 tons of standard coal and reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by 1,400 tons, nitride emissions by 1,200 tons, and carbon dioxide emissions by 428,000 tons per year. It will play a positive role in conserving the local environment and reducing air pollution, and create notable economic, environmental and social benefits.
