Baoshen Railway’s Coal Transport Volume Surpassed 250 Million Tons This Year

from:China Energy Investment Corporationdate:2022-11-07

By October 30, Baoshen Railway Group (“Baoshen Railway” for short) under CHN Energy had transported 250,452,000 tons of coal this year. The transport volume in October grew by 930,400 tons from the previous month, an increase by 3.7%. The company’s coal transportation business maintained a high-level operation, guaranteeing stable and orderly energy supply for the pending consumption peak in winter.

As this winter’s energy consumption peak approached, Baoshen Railway wasted no time to formulate a special winter energy supply plan, established six dedicated squads, and gave full play to the role of the Energy Supply Coordination Office, effectively guaranteeing efficient and smooth coal transportation via railway. With a higher political standing and keeping the whole picture in mind, it took firm measures to meet the requirements for guaranteeing energy supply. Besides, it took performance in guaranteeing energy supply as one of the paramount indicators to evaluate its employees, and those who are slack in their work and cause severe accidents will be held accountable. In addition, upholding the ideas that “guaranteeing energy supply is guaranteeing safety” and “zero accident is the strongest support for guaranteeing energy supply”, efforts have been made to ensure workplace safety and passenger safety, prevent and defuse major potential risks, eradicate dangerous operations in cargo transport, dedicated lines, and cargo loading and unloading, and strengthen contractor management and beyond-railway safety. The company also strengthened scheduling and commanding, and stressed that scheduling orders should be implemented thoroughly to the end. Moreover, it strove to improve the transport capacity of the Yinta-Huoshan rail line, and made all-out efforts to give full play to the capacity of self-produced coal stations at Bu’ertai, Shigetai, Ciyaowan, Bulianta, Shangwan, and Daliuta. Such stations as Batuta, Ulan Mulun, and Yanjiata took measures like increasing shunting teams and switchers to solve problems such as overstocked coal in a single station waiting for delivery, so as to ensure all coal is transported within its capacity and guarantee the loading operations of all major stations along the railway. All units have achieved seamless alignment and worked together to provide a safe, efficient and smooth channel for transporting coal produced in Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang to other parts of the country.

Moreover, all equipment subsidiaries defused and adjusted the stress on seamless railway and adjusted the track gaps of ordinary railway ahead of the arrival of the peak season. They have strengthened equipment maintenance and repair to upgrade the equipment’s resistance against coldness, and arranged work to clean ice and snow and prevent trains from freezing in advance, thus ensuring such problems have zero impact on transportation and production. The service departments were required to enhance their material supply capacity to guarantee logistics services and the stable supply of key energy products in extremely cold weathers. The company has spared no effort to guarantee safe and smooth energy transportation in the pending winter peak season, so as to provide a solid foundation for the people to enjoy a warm winter.
