China’s First Electrified Railway Tunnel Line Dedicated to Coal Transportation Began Trial Operation

On January 15, Train T5 completed cargo loading and began operation along the Longwanggou dedicated line under the jurisdiction of the Diandaigou station zone of Xinshuo Railway Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CHN Energy, marking that the Longwanggou dedicated line officially began trial operation. The dedicated line provides strong support for increasing the company’s cargo transport capacity and market share in eastern Jungar Banner.

The first freight train loaded with cargo began trial operation on the Longwanggou dedicated line.

The Longwanggou dedicated line of Xinshuo Railway is China’s first electrified railway dedicated to coal transportation that achieved loading in the tunnel. As a supporting project for Longwanggou Coal Mine of Guoyuan Mining Co., Ltd., it has been listed as a national key project by the National Development and Reform Commission. The newly built 11.04-kilometer dedicated line has seven groups of railroad switches and the No.17 and No.18 new tracks. It adopts the new silo loop loading method, with a designed loading capacity of 10 million tons per year. The completion of the dedicated line made the Longwangqu Railway Station turn from an in-route passing station to a loading station, which became a milestone in the upgrading of the station.
